HOW I SPEND MY FREE TIME

I would be definitely lying if I said my head was constantly buried in books! My university experience has been a mixture of studying hard but having fun... Here's a little account of what I like to do in my spare time:

GYM/WALKING

Nothing helps me relax more than taking time out my day to walk my dog. My little pupper – where do I start... She's a little golden oldie, 12 years and counting. She may look old but she is young at heart. I honestly don’t think there is anything better than a dog, she always keeps a smile on my face. Seeing how happy my dog is when she out to walk honestly just melts my heart. Additionally keeping fit is important to me, nothing feels as good as being healthy. Plus I love to eat, so I need to counteract those cals somewhere lol. I always start my days at the gym. I love the feeling after the gym, it just makes me feel ready for the day and energised. Good things come to those who sweat.

NIGHTS OUT!!!

I have definitely not been shy of a few nights out throughout my uni experience. From Royal Exchange Square to Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow City Centre is littered with nightlife. It's basically impossible to avoid. From firewater (a fan favorite), to Shimmy – you just can't escape a night out in Glasgow. And who could forget about the trusty Shed on the Southside. Saturday nights have definitely not been the same without them. Not to mention the STUDENT PRICES! Night life is not everyone's bag, but it has definitely played a massive part in my university experience. Besides the hangovers, a night out is definitely up there on my weekly list… or was!

HOLIDAYS

Summer holidays. Everything is fine when you have sunshine... and booze! Top of my list is making sure my summer is jammed packed with exciting things to do. This summer was a slight let down with COVID taking over, however my previous summer are definitely ones to remember. Girls’ trips are a must for me. Summers when you're at university are so long so take advantage of them and make sure you make the most of them. My previous holidays have included Zante, Portugal, and of course Magaluf – taking the trophy. Can't say on my holidays I learnt a lot about the culture, however they have most certainly been a learning curve. Nonetheless I wouldn’t change any of them and loved every single minute.

NIGHTS AWAY

A night away is one of my favorite things to do at the moment – it's like a mini holiday. Recently, I have been going on trips all over Scotland. I never really appreciated the beauty we have here in Scotland until this summer. I spent my days getting to know a bit about Scottish highlands and climbing hills. Most importantly I was treating myself to some delicious meals and goodies. I think nights away give us the opportunity to rewind and take a break from everyday life. Life is so full on, so packing the car up and going on an adventure doesn’t seem too shabby. I recommend doing this, you can make it super cheap, and getting out of normal day life gives us a second to breathe. Plus it's exciting getting to go somewhere that isn't home in my opinion.

FAMILY TIME

It's still super important to me to make time for my family. Life can seem so hectic but taking a breather and spending some quality time with your loved ones is so important. This year has been especially hard to see the one we love. Make time to see your family, even if it is just a cup of tea, it will put a smile on their faces.

I hope you all stay happy and healthy.
